Srinagar, Mar 10 (KNS): KFORD kick-started the Implementation of Action Plan 2019-20 of the Support Activities of Information Education & Communication (IEC) & Human Resource Development (HRD) Activities carried out under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) today for the District Kupwara J&K.
Organized by KFORD and DWSM/Superintending Engineer Hydraulic Circle Kupwara J&K (Executive Engineer PHE Division Kupwara ), the Training was carried out regarding preparation of village water security plan including audiovisual show, a documentary regarding creating awareness on Water Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) & benefits of water conservation, rain water harvesting; Hands on training of FTK; IEC Material (Distribution of pamphlets/booklets etc) & installation of flex banners was carried out during this one day program.
A statement issued to KNS reads, KFORD is one of the leading research and rights-based organization in Jammu and Kashmir with expertise on IEC across different thematic areas and had qualified for “Implementation of the Support Activities component (HRD and IEC) of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) for District Kupwara through District & Water Sanitation Mission ” .
Among others discussions Mr Feroze Ahmed Wani, Resource Person talked on the deliverables of Jal Jevan Mission and its importance in Water Management Planning in grassroots.
Muzzamil Technical Officer, Handwara Division, Nazir Ahmad President Employee union Handwara Department of Jal Shakti, and Mr Bukhari, Executive Engineer, Handwara assured all participants including Panchs and Sarpanchs to look into their grievances and take-up their respective cases to the concern authorities for overall development of villages in this area.
Sulaiman , Habibullah Sheikh Basharat Shameem, among the prominent Sarpanchs talked about the issues regarding water supply and piped tap water in their blocks / villages . Salim Wani and Dr Abrar from KFORD assured all the participants and authorities to rollout and make this program result oriented and also appealed the community leaders for the conservation and awareness raising of Jal Jeevan Mission in their respective areas (KNS)
