Srinagar, Dec 23(KNS): National Conference leader and Member Parliament Justice (Retd) Hasnain Masoodi on Monday condoled the demise of Jamaat-e-Islamia activist Ghulam Mohammad Bhat of Kulangam Handwara, who died in Allahabad Jail on Friday.
In a telephonic statement to KNS, he said despite knowing his (Bhat’s) health condition and old age he was shifted to Allahabad Jail. “The government should stop such atrocities in Kashmir. All the political leaders must be released immediately and those languishing in outside Kashmir jails must be transferred back to the Valley,” Masoodi said.
He expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.
It is pertinent to mention here that Bhat died on Friday in Allahabad Jail. He was booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) in July this year. (KNS)
