Javid Dar Joins Virtual Meet with Union Agriculture Minister; Fertilizer Supply, Crop Damage, and Natural Farming Discussed

Srinagar, August 14 (KNS): Minister for Agriculture Production Department, Rural Development Department, and Panchayati Raj, Javid Ahmad Dar, Thursday attended a virtual meeting with the Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

The meeting focused on crucial agricultural issues, including fertilizer availability, crop loss or damage, and initiatives like Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan and National Mission of Natural Farming.

The Union Minister emphasized the importance of providing fertilizers to farmers in a timely manner, ensuring they don't suffer due to market shortages. He warned that strict action will be taken against those involved in the black marketing of fertilizers, seeds, and pesticides.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

He urged Principal Secretaries to motivate farmers to adopt natural/organic farming practices and directed for accurate data collection on crop damage through proper surveys to ensure timely compensation for farmers.

The Union Minister also stressed that the approved fertilizer list will be published to inform farmers about substandard fertilizers.

He invited all Agricultural Ministers of States to participate in the upcoming Rabi Conference scheduled for September 15th and 16th, 2025.

The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Agriculture Production Department, Shailendra Kumar, Director Agriculture Kashmir, Sartaj Ahmad Shah, and other senior officers.(KNS)
