Highlights JK's vast tourism potential

 Chennai, Jan 24 (KNS): Continuing with its promotional campaigns, J&K Tourism department participated in Travel Trade Fair  at Chennai.

 
The 3-day B2B travel trade expo witnessed a tremendous response from the industry with participation from over hundreds of  exhibitors and representation from various countries and tourism boards from across India.
 
Director Tourism Kashmir Nisar Ahmad Wani is leading the team of J&K’s travel and hospitality sector who have also turned up in good numbers to showcase J&K's vast tourism potential.
 
Statement issued to KNS reads as Director Tourism Jammu Deepika K Sharma, Deputy Director Tourism Kashmir (Publicity) Riyaz Ahmad Shah are also part of J&K Tourism Department’s official delegation at TTF Chennai. 
 
Tourism Minister Kerala, Secretary Tourism Kerala and Regional Director South Ministry of Tourism, GoI Sanjay Shreevats visited the J&K Pavilion and interacted with the officers on J&K' tourism promotion.
On the side-lines of the event, the department of tourism also held Press Meet to inform the media persons about how tourists were enjoying their holidays in J&K especially in Kashmir. 
 
“There have been apprehensions among the travellers whether traveling to Kashmir was safe or not. We have already received good number of tourists who left with happy memories and are also spreading good word about Kashmir’s beauty and its  known hospitality,” he told the reporters. 
 
Director Tourism also held separate meetings with the travel trade heads from various cities to encourage them to promote J&K in their travel itineraries.
 
Hundreds of the participants visited the J&K Pavilion where tourism department officials distributed them brochures and other publicity materials of every tourist resorts. The travel agents, hoteliers, houseboat owners and other destination management companies from J&K also promoted their companies and offered various packages to the visitors and encouraged them to visit J&K.
 
The department provided each travel, hotel, houseboat associations free table space at its pavilion at the travel show so that their members can avail the space and promote their tour packages (KNS).
