Seeks Guv’s intervention for restoration of position of Secy BOSE, other such academicians

Srinagar, Aug 13 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Lecturers Forum expresses deep anguish over placement of Non-academia for executing the job academic affairs.
In an emergency meeting held under the chairmanship of its state president Dr Manzoor, the Jammu and Kashmir Lecturers Forum expressed its dismay over the Government policy on posting of KAS officers to carry out the functions which demand the academicians of a great repute.
In a statement to KNS, forum president Dr. Manzoor said that the positions like Joint Directors, CEOs, chairman/secretary/Joint secretary JK BOSE are purely academic positions and can in no way be run effectively by a KAS or IAS officer.
Besides this it is debarring the competent officers of the department from their promotion avenues.
He said forum has always been against any such irrational step which leads to dilution of standards of our education system. These steps adversely have closed the elevation opportunities of highly qualified officers of the department who already feel stagnant in absence of Running Grade benefits.
Dr. Manzoor requested the Governor for restoration of these positions for the officers of School Education and the position of Secretary JK BOSE for Higher Education Department so that the department returns back on rails.
Meeting attended by General Secretary Bashir Ahmad Mir and other core group members Mir Fayaz, Haji Altaf Sofi, Sayed Fayaz, Haji Mohammed Amin, Dr Parveiz and Mushtaq Ahmad. (KNS)
