Jammu, Dec 26 (KNS) : Jammu Division operates special trains from time to time to ensure the convenient travel of passengers.
According to a press release issued ,This initiative helps Indian Railways provide better facilities and effectively manage passenger movement during periods of heavy rush. Keeping in view the expected surge in travel during the New Year celebrations, the Railways has decided to run a special reserved train service between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra from December 27, 2025 to January 1, 2026.
To cater to this demand, special reserved train numbers 04081/04082 will operate between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra during the said period.
Details of Special Reserved Trains:
Special Reserved Train No. 04081 (New Delhi – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra)
This train will run from 27.12.25 to 31.12.25 (05 trips).
The train will depart from New Delhi at 11:45 PM on its first day, December 27, and will reach Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 12:00 PM the following day. En route, the train will halt at Panipat, Kurukshetra, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot Cantt, Jammu, and Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan (Udhampur) railway stations.

This train will run from 28.12.25 to 01.01.26 (05 trips).
The train will depart from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 9:20 PM on its first day, December 28, and will reach New Delhi at 10:00 AM the next day. En route, the train will halt at Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan (Udhampur), Jammu, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar Cantt, Ludhiana, Ambala Cantt, Kurukshetra, and Panipat railway stations.
Speaking about the special train services, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu Division, Uchit Singhal, stated that the reserved special train has been introduced to cater to the increasing number of tourists visiting Jammu and Kashmir and to meet the travel requirements of local residents during the holiday season. He added that the service will help passengers connect with their families and friends to celebrate the New Year and will also assist in managing the heavy rush during this period.
The reserved special train will operate with 16 coaches. Passengers can book tickets through the official Indian Railways website/app or through authorized agents. Passengers are advised to obtain accurate information regarding train timings before commencing their journey.(KNS)
