Jaish module involved in Sgr grenade attacks busted: DIG VK Birdi

Srinagar, Jan16 KNS: Police today claimed to have busted a Jaish Muhammad militant outfit module involved in grenade attacks in Srinagar city.
 
It was revealed during a presser by DIG central Kashmir V K Birdi. He was flanked by SSP Srinagar Dr Haseeb Mughal at PCR here.
 
He identified the members of the module as Aijaz Ahmed Sheikh resident of Hazratbal( auto driver),Umer Hamid Sheikh, resident of Hazratbal(vendor), Imtiyaz Ahmed resident of Hazratbal(Sports goods shop owner) and Naseer Ahmed ( Businessman) resident of Hazratbal and Sahil Farooq Gojri who is doing a private job is resident of Hazratabal-Soura area.
 
The DIG said the after two grenade lobbying incidents on 26 November and January 8 in Hazratbal area, an investigation was started by the Police which initially led to the identification of two of them.
 
“They came on a two wheeler and lobbed a grenade. Their intention was to disturb the normal life,” he said.
 
He added that on their identification, three more persons were arrested.
 
Mr V K Birdi said that searches and raids were conducted at various places on their revelations.
 
“Explosives, Detonators, body waists, sharpenels, ball rings, bearings were recovered. From the recovery, it seems they were planning big attacks including IEDs,” he said. (KNS).
