Srinagar, Jun 21 (KNS): The two incarcerated pro-freedom leaders including Hurriyat Conference (G) spokesman, Ayaz Akbar and Hurriyat Conference (M) media advisor, Shahid-ul-Islam on Thursday expressed shock over the murder of veteran journalist, Syed Shujaat Bukhari on last week in Srinagar.
The family members of duo who had gone to visit them at Tihar jail told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that they (Akbar and Islam) paid tributes to the slain journalist and highlighted his role.
Akbar and Islam demanded an impartial probe into the killing of Shujaat Bukhari, saying that “the culprits behind the gruesome killing of Shujaat Bukhari should be exposed.”
Incarcerated Akbar and Islam said that as holding the charge of spokesman and media advisor respectively in their respective amalgams, they had contacts with Shujaat Bukhari, saying “he was always humble and sober.” (KNS)
