Srinagar, Oct 23 (KNS): Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik called for shutdown on October 27 and appealed people to observe this day as ‘black day and occupation day’.
JRL in a joint statement issued to KNS appealed people to observe shutdown on Oct 27 against “the forcible occupation of Jammu and Kashmir by India on this day back in 1947.”
The trio also appealed the people especially of Southern districts to visit the residences of slain civilians of Kulgam who were killed in an explosion at gunfight site in Laroo area of Kulgam district on Wednesday.
Earlier, seven civilians were killed after an explosive shell went off at encounter site in Laroo village of Kulgam that also witnessed the killing of three local JeM militants. (KNS)
