Srinagar, Apr 27 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM) incharge Bandipora, Dr Gulam Mustafa Khan Saturday said that the party will leave no stone unturned to improve livelihood of the people of Wevan village , a hitherto neglected remotest area of district Bandipora.

During his maiden tour to Wevan area, Dr Mustafa while listening to the grievances of the inhabitants said that JKPM vowed to ensure that justice is done to the people of Jammu and Kashmir without any discrimination with an emphasis on providing basic amenities of life to the poor people living in remote and backward areas.

Dr. Mustafa said it was very painful to hear that people of the area particularly Wevan village have no road connectivity, no electricity, no potable drinking water and no medical aid despite tall claims of the Government about "Sab Ka Vikas".

“People of the area have complained that not a single local public representative has ever visited this area except at the times of seeking votes. However, they still remember when Dr Shah Faesal, then Deputy Commissioner of Bandipora, had visited this remotest area and distributed solar lights, blankets, mattings and others among the needy people,” he said.

Dr Mustafa assured the local people that JKPM would fight for their basic rights. “JKPM endeavors that justice is done to every single citizen and he gets his basic rights on social, economical and political fronts," Dr. Mustafa said.

He asked the people to strengthen the hands of Dr Shah Faesal for change and better future of the State. Dr. Mustafa was accorded a rousing reception by the local inhabitants.

Meanwhile, JKPM leader Dr. Nazir Ahmad Lone urged people to guard their identity and culture as Kashmiris are facing severest ever threat to their existence and survival in the hands of fascist forces.

Speaking at a series of workers meetings of JKPM at Borwa and Khathier in Chadoora, Budgam, Dr. Nazir called upon the people especially youth to rise to the occasion to guard their identity and existence as some forces inimical to the autonomy of the state were hell-bent to erode constitutional guaranties to the special status of the state.

He urged youth to strengthen hands of Dr. Shah Faesal who has embarked on a noble mission to fight against injustices meted out to the people on socio-political and development fronts.

Dr Lone while highlighting the policies and programmes of JKPM said that resolution of the vexed Kashmir problem, as per the aspirations of the people, through a meaningful dialogue process between the stakeholders was the core agenda of JKPM which will be perused as an act of faith.

He urged the participants to reach out to the people to identify their day to day problems and to get their grievances redressed at appropriate fora. He also urged the Governors administration to lift restrictions on civilian traffic movement on National Highway as it has proved very detrimental and disastrous to the people both socially as well as economically.

"The highway ban has particularly hit the fruit industry," Dr. Lone added.

Stating that Jammu and Kashmir People's Movement (JKPM) shall earnestly work towards clearing all ambiguities surrounding the vexed Kashmir problem, JKPM leader Feroz Peerzada asked youth to strengthen hands of Dr. Shah Faesal to fructify the dream of a politically, socially and economically autonomous and self sufficient state.

Speaking to a series of public meetings at Maharajpora, Sopore, Rampore Rajpora and Zaloora Sopore, Peerzada assured people that JKPM would render every sacrifice to safe guard interests of the people adding that time has come to isolate opportunistic and power hungry politicians.

A large number of people especially youth joined JKPM and vowed to walk shoulder to shoulder with Dr Shah Faesal for cleansing the prevailing polluted socio- Political mess from the state.

Feroz Peerzada said that glory of Sopore, once known as "Chota London" shall be restored to its fullest potential. (KNS)
