JKNHMEA Appeals CM to End 18 Years of Uncertainty for NHM Employees

Srinagar, Jan 18 (KNS) : The Jammu and Kashmir National Health Mission Employees Association (JKNHMEA) has once again reiterated its long-pending demand for a comprehensive regularisation policy for employees working under the ambit of the National Health Mission (NHM) in Jammu and Kashmir.

NHM employees have been rendering uninterrupted services for the past 18 years under difficult and challenging conditions, yet continue to work without a job security policy, service benefits, or social security safeguards. Despite being the backbone of the public health delivery system, their genuine issues remain unresolved.

Abdul Rauoof, Chief Spokesperson of JKNHMEA in a statement issued to news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) appealed to all the Hon’ble MLAs of Jammu and Kashmir to raise the long-pending issues of NHM employees in the upcoming Assembly Session scheduled to begin from 2 February 2026.

“NHM employees have devoted nearly two decades of their lives to strengthening the healthcare system of Jammu and Kashmir, yet they continue to live in uncertainty without any regularisation policy or job security,” said Abdul Rauoof.

He further emphasized that the Association represents the concerns of more than 12,000 NHM employees working across the Union Territory.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

“We appeal to all Hon’ble MLAs to become the voice of the voiceless NHM employees and raise our genuine demands on the floor of the Assembly. This is not a demand for charity, but a rightful demand for justice and dignity,” he added.

Abdul Rauoof also urged the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, to personally intervene and ensure a secure future for NHM employees.

“We earnestly request the Hon’ble Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to take a compassionate and decisive stand to secure the future of more than 12,000 NHM employees who have served the people of Jammu and Kashmir with dedication and commitment,” he stated.

The JKNHMEA expressed hope that the upcoming Assembly Session will mark a turning point in addressing the long-standing grievances of NHM employees and lead to a time-bound regularisation policy ensuring job security, service benefits, and dignity for all NHM staff. (KNS)
