Decides to take up issues of media expansion, upliftment with Govt

Srinagar, Oct 11 (KNS): An important meeting of Jammu and Kashmir Editors Forum (JKEF) was on Thursday morning held under the chairmanship of co-convener Muhammad Aslam Bhat at Press Club Srinagar to discuss the major challenges confronting print media industry in Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting also discussed the issues concerning media fraternity of Jammu and Kashmir particularly the issues concerning working of media institutions in the state.
The meeting which was attended by around 40 members and lasted for nearly two hours discussed various issues faced by the newspaper owners and editors in particular.
The meeting unanimously decided to expand the forum’s operation across the length and breadth of the state to make the forum more vibrant.
A delegation of JKEF called on Director Information, Tariq Ahmad Zargar later in the day and brought to his attention all the issues concerning expansion and uplitment of media institutions in the state. (KNS)
