Srinagar, Apr 18 (KNS): Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) has paid rich and glowing tributes to Shaheed S Hamid on his martyrdom anniversary. Shaheed S Hamid, an associate of the JKDFP incarcerated chief, Shabir Ahmad Shah, was arrested by government forces and killed in custody in Soura area of Srinagar on April 18, 1998.
Remembering the great politician and intellectual, JKDFP said in a statement that Shaheed S Hamid was an icon of the freedom struggle and among the founders of All Parties Hurriyat Conference.
Time has proved that by the sacrifices of our great martyrs like S Hamid, the freedom movement has become so strong. Despite the dirty designs of the occupying forces the ideological heirs of the martyrs are still on path of resistance and freedom.
Terming Shaheed S Hamid as a leader with vision, Freedom Party spokesperson said that he will always be remembered for his dedication, sincerity and love for freedom.
Strongly condemning the use of force against the students across Kashmir, JKDFP spokesperson said that New Delhi and its local stooges should realise that Kashmiris are united and demand freedom from India in one voice.
He praised the student community for their velour and resolve. He said that freedom is not so far when young generation is so determined. Recent student protests against the atrocities is a clear message to India that freedom struggle has transferred successfully to the younger generation that will not accept any kind of atrocities.
JKDFP spokesperson said that India should read writing on wall and desist from its illogical stance about Kashmir dispute. He added that heckling of youth, tear gassing peaceful protesters and baton charging them is not acceptable to Kashmiris. (KNS)
