Srinagar, Jul 20 (KNS): Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) has strongly condemned the banning of more than 30 cable TV channels by authorities. Terming the decision as fascist, the JKDFP spokesperson said that this indicates the evil designs of authorities towards Muslims because all the banned channels belonged to Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and are known among Muslims of the world as most of them used to telecast religious stuff only.
Strongly condemning the act, JKDFP Spokesperson said that such authoritarian measures only add fuel to the fire. The Indian authorities through their agents in the disputed region are busy in implementing a policy which aims at silencing everybody. The irony is that people are even denied their basic rights and they are now directed to watch selective TV channels. However, people of Jammu Kashmir have always faced such dictatorial measures with patience and steadfastness which has been a key to their continuous resistance. The spokesperson hailed the people for their determination on the path of resistance which has frustrated the occupiers.
Meanwhile, the JKDFP spokesperson expressed heartfelt grief and sorrow over the demise of Haji Habibullah Khan who was maintaining the Martyrs graveyard Eidgah Srinagar from a long time.
While paying tributes to the deceased JKDFP spokesperson said that he had buried around 2000 martyrs in his life and will always be remembered for his role in maintaining the Martyrs graveyard. The spokesperson prayed for the heavenly abode of the deceased and extended his condolences to the grieved family. (KNS)
