JKCA to host eight national-level matches in 2025–26 season

Srinagar, Oct 9(KNS): The Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) has announced that it will host a total of eight national-level matches during the upcoming 2025–26 domestic cricket season.

The fixtures include three Ranji Trophy matches, three Col. C.K. Nayudu Trophy matches, and two Cooch Behar Trophy matches.

The Ranji Trophy games will feature high-profile domestic teams, with matches against Mumbai and Rajasthan scheduled to be played at the iconic Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium in Srinagar.

The Col. C.K. Nayudu Trophy matches will be hosted at the Hostel Ground in Jammu, while the Jammu University Cricket Ground will serve as the venue for the Cooch Behar Trophy fixtures.

The season will commence with a marquee Ranji Trophy match between Jammu & Kashmir and Mumbai on October 15, 2025, in Srinagar, marking an exciting start for cricket enthusiasts in the region.

For security and safety reasons, spectators will not be allowed to carry bottles or tiffin boxes inside the stadiums. Brig Gupta urged the public to maintain decorum during the matches. “Cheer the teams and your favourite players wholeheartedly, but refrain from hooting or any kind of sloganeering. Our guest teams too deserve applause for their good performances,” he said.

He also reiterated that only accredited media personnel, bearing JKCA-issued accreditation cards, will be granted access to the match venues.

The JKCA expressed its hope for disciplined public conduct and enthusiastic participation, ensuring a smooth and memorable cricketing season for players and fans alike.(KNS).
