JKASC organises snow trek to Lidwas

Srinagar, Jan 08 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Adventure Sports Club (JKASC) Sunday organized a snow trek to Lidwas in the vicinity of the Dachigam National Park in which four of its members participated.
Lidwas is also base camp for the Mahadev Peak on Zabarwan range 3966 meters which is visible from almost all parts of Srinagar and also from the Saffron town Pampore
The trek was first of its kind in which snowshoes where used to traverse the 4 feet snow on way to Lidwas.
The trek to Lidwas was also first trek of the year 2019 by any group after recent snowfall.
JKASC has already conducted many activities including the recent 200 km solo ultra marathon from Kargil to Srinagar, which Hamid Aziz completed in two days.
The adventure club also organized few trekking events in Srinagar for female members who were led by Valley’s known mountaineer Nahida Manzoor.
It conducts regular sky running events on Sundays on Zabarwan hills in which many of its members are participating. The sky running is led by some of the known athletes of the Valley like Hamid Aziz, Muneer Sulatan, Muzamil Hussian, Shah Suhail.
JKASC will also organise more snow treks to Mahadev, Gangbal Lake and other peaks in coming days. (KNS)
