Srinagar, Jan 21 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association on Sunday said that Gowkadal mass massacre by Indian forces on 21st January 1990 clot the face of Indian democracy in which 52 people were killed and 152 injured within a minutes when forces unilaterally without any provocation fired upon peaceful demonstrators followed by like mass massacres at Handwara and Kupwara on 24th & 27th January 1990 wherein more than 48 people were killed and hundreds injured.
Paying rich tributes to the martyrs, JK HCBA requests the people to safeguard the sacrifices and interests of the movement for freedom and resolution of the Kashmir issue. Situation in J&K is more different than in 1990. We are experiencing dally death and destruction. It is the duty of sensible people with political wisdom to come forward to devise well directed strategy to innovate means of struggle for achievement of the goals. History is remembered to draw the lessons and we must rise to the occasion to attract universal attention towards the Kashmir issue and the plight of the suffering masses failing which coming generations will blame us for having sold our souls. Mere rhetoric's are not going to help. India and Pakistan must face brass takes and come forward to resume the composite and structured dialogue process to resolve the Kashmir issue. both the countries cannot afford all time hostilities consuming human and material resources.
