Says NC founder accepted CM’s post in 1975, never demanded separate PM for JK

Srinagar, Apr 02 (KNS): Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary on Tuesday slammed NC Vice President Omar Abdullah over his separate PM remarks and said that by making such a statement, Omar is trying to prove his grandfather and NC founder wrong.

“Omar should have been talking about better jobs, better healthcare and quality education for Jammu and Kashmir, a state that has been witnessing the bloodshed and mayhem for the past three decades. Instead of raking up genuine and important issue, NC is busing playing to the galleries,” Kadfeen said while addressing a press conference here.

He said that in the year 1975 itself, NC founder and Omar’s grandfather assumed the post of Chief Minister and even after winning 1977 elections, he didnt till his last breath raked up the demand of separate PM for Kashmir. “Now, is Omar trying to prove that his grandfather was wrong in his stand and he committed a mistake by accepting the post of Chief Minister?,” asked Kadfeen.

He added such emotive issues need to be given a back seat at present as priorities for the state currently are different and Jammu and Kashmir is gasping for an overall development and tranquility on all fronts. (KNS)
