Tehran, June 23 (KNS): In a strong response to what it described as a "blatant military aggression" by the United States against its peaceful nuclear facilities, Iran’s Armed Forces announced that it has launched a powerful missile strike on the Al-Udeid air base in Qatar — a key US military installation in the region.
According to a statement issued by Iran’s military, the operation, named Besharat Fatah (Good News of Victory), was carried out by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) under the command of Iran’s Central Headquarters of the Last Prophet. The missile strike, launched with the sacred code “Aba Abdullah Al-Hussein (PBUH),” targeted what Iran described as the “largest strategic asset” of the US Air Force in West Asia.
The Iranian Armed Forces called the attack a direct response to the recent US actions, which they claim violate international law and Iran’s sovereignty. The statement declared that the Islamic Republic will not remain silent in the face of threats to its territorial integrity and national security.
“The message is clear,” the statement read. “Iran, with the support of its people and faith in God, will not allow any act of aggression to go unanswered.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel”
The statement also linked the US to Israel, claiming that the American attacks further exposed what it called the shared goals of Washington and the Zionist regime. It warned that US bases and mobile military assets in the region are now vulnerable targets, not strengths.
Issued on the eve of the Islamic month of Muharram — a sacred time of mourning for Muslims — the statement carried both a military and symbolic warning. Referring to the historic martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), it urged enemies of Iran to rethink their strategies, stating: “The time for bullying is over.”
The message concluded with a stark warning to the United States and its allies: any further acts of aggression would only speed up the downfall of the US military presence in the region and fuel the wider resistance across the Islamic world.
There has been no immediate response from US Central Command regarding the claimed missile attack, and further details are awaited. Tensions remain high in the region as global leaders call for restraint and dialogue. (KNS)
