Iqbal High School Soura organizes annual CC run

Srinagar, Apr 05 (KNS): Iqbal High School, Soura today organized annual cross country run. The theme of this year's event was 'run against use of polythene'. Hundreds of boys and girl students from different classes participated in the run.

The race was flagged off by Vice Chairman in the presence of school Principal, staff, Teachers, officials and others. The runners crossed entire 90 feet road from Soura to Ahmad Nagar and back.

A large number of parents and local people were present and witnessed the flagging off ceremony. They encouraged the students particularly from the junior department to run against the use of polythene.

“In view of adverse affects polythene causes to our soil, water bodies and environment, organizing a run about its impact is the need of the hour”, Said Khalid Arjumand, an environmental activist.

He said that other institutions should also organize such programs against the use of polythene. At the end of the run Tabinda of 10th class & Furqaan of class 8, Dayima of 9th and Izhan of class 10 Nadiya & Asma both of class 8 and Farees of class 9 got first , second and third positions in the High department respectively. Similarly Sameer of class 7 and Madiha of class 5 stood first, Mudasir of class 7 and Muntaha of 5th bagged second positions and Taha class 7 and Duha of class 4 took third position in the middle department, in the lower department Musadiq, Hanaan and Furqan respectively bagged first three positions.

The winners of the race are being awarded on annual day function. The school management has thanked locals, parents and authorities, particularly P/S Soura, for their respective cooperation in making the event memorable and remarkable. (KNS)
