Karnah, Oct 7 (KNS) : In a remarkable display of courage and compassion, Indian Army troops of the Shakti Vijay Brigade, along with the BSF, carried out a swift rescue operation in the Ragini-Taya area of Tangdhar following sudden and heavy snowfall that left several civilians and their livestock stranded.
Reports state that residents from Kadama village had spent the summer months in Dhok Asmala along with their cattle and livestock. As the region experienced its first snowfall of the season, the families were returning to their native villages when three vehicles became trapped in thick snow along the Ragini-Taya road.
Despite freezing temperatures and near whiteout conditions, the Army and BSF personnel reached the site promptly, rescuing the stranded families, including women and children.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelImmediate medical aid, warm clothing, and food were provided on-site.
Sources indicate that around 300 goats and sheep remain stranded at Dhok Asmala due to the sudden snowfall, with efforts underway to ensure their safe evacuation.
The civil administration extended full support during the operation. Senior journalist Peerzada Sayeed also engaged with authorities regarding the situation, while civil society members expressed their gratitude for the prompt response.
