Indian Army Organises Volleyball Tournament in Lolab Valley

Kupwara, Dec 19 (KNS): The Indian Army organised a four-day volleyball tournament at Shrant High School in Lolab Valley with the aim of promoting sportsmanship, healthy living and constructive engagement among the youth, while also strengthening community ties in the region.

The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from 16 teams representing various areas of Lolab Valley and was played in a knockout format. Matches held on December 16 and 17 attracted large local audiences, with teams demonstrating high levels of competitiveness, discipline and sportsmanship.

The event advanced to the quarter-finals and semi-finals on December 18, culminating in the final match on December 19. The final was contested between Team Dherian Camp and Big Shots Dever.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelTeam Dherian Camp won the match on the court; however, as a gesture of goodwill and to highlight the spirit of unity and sportsmanship, the first prize was awarded to Big Shots Dever.

Danish Ahmed Mir of Big Shots Dever was declared the Best Player of the Tournament for his consistent and outstanding performance throughout the event.

Local residents lauded the initiative, stating that such sporting events provide a positive platform for youth, help in identifying local talent and encourage teamwork, discipline and healthy competition. The tournament was widely viewed as an important step towards fostering harmony and further strengthening the bond between the Indian Army and the people of Lolab Valley.(KNS)
