New Dehli June 20 (KNS): The Indian Army, in collaboration with Indian diplomatic missions and cultural centres worldwide, is actively celebrating the International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2025 with enthusiasm and dedication. In line with this year’s global theme of promoting health, harmony, and holistic well-being, several yoga sessions have been organised in the run-up to the main event on 21 June.
At the Defence Services Academy (DSA) in Myanmar, a special yoga session was held on 19 June 2025 from 1600 to 1700 hours. The event saw active participation from all students of the Postgraduate and Diploma courses. A total of 45 Burmese officers from various age groups joined the session, making it vibrant and engaging. The programme highlighted yoga’s benefits in improving physical fitness, mental strength, and inner peace.
In Kazakhstan, the Indian Army Training Team (IATT), in association with the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, organised a yoga session at the National Defence University in Astana on 19 June. The session introduced yoga to members of the Kazakh Armed Forces, focusing on its role in managing stress, improving lifestyle habits, and promoting overall wellness.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Meanwhile, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, yoga is being celebrated as a national-level event under the leadership of the Embassy of India. The Lal Bahadur Shastri Centre for Indian Culture (LBSCIC), together with the IATT, is coordinating the celebrations under the guidance of the Ambassador. The event has drawn participation from a wide range of institutions, including the Government, Ministry of Defence, Armed Forces Academy, and civil bodies.
Ahead of the main celebration on 21 June, several yoga sessions have already been conducted across Tashkent by certified instructors from LBSCIC. These programmes have also included members from the Friends of Friendly Countries (FFC), promoting the message of unity, health, and harmony through yoga.
Through these international initiatives, the Indian Army reaffirms its commitment to fostering a global culture of wellness, mindfulness, and shared human values.
