No Diplomatic Talks with Pakistan; Operation Still Ongoing: Centre Informs Parliament
Srinagar, August 1 (KNS): The Government of India on Friday said that it launched Operation Sindoor in response to the Pahalgam terror attack carried out by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists on April 22, 2025 which specifically targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
The information was provided in a written reply by the Ministry of External Affairs in the Lok Sabha. The government stated that decisive military and diplomatic measures were taken immediately following the attack, which claimed multiple lives and triggered national outrage, especially in Jammu and Kashmir.
On May 10, 2025, the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of Pakistan contacted his Indian counterpart requesting cessation of cross-border firing and military activities.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelIndia agreed to pause active firing later that same day, but Operation Sindoor continues, targeting terror-related infrastructure across the Line of Control.
The Centre has made its position clear that terrorism and diplomacy cannot go hand in hand. The reply reiterated India’s firm stance that there will be no diplomatic dialogue with Pakistan under the current circumstances. The message, the government said, has been conveyed at the highest level.
The Ministry also said that India's approach remains focused on strict action against the roots of terrorism, refusal to tolerate any form of coercion or blackmail, and a commitment to protecting its citizens especially in regions like Jammu and Kashmir from cross-border threats.(KNS)
