Tangmarg, Aug 15 (KNS): 79th Independence Day was observed in Tangmarg with a formal event where Chief Education Officer (CEO) Gulmarg, Tariq Hussain, hoisted the national flag.

The ceremony was attended by officials from various departments, including SDPO Gulmarg, SHO Tangmarg, BDO Tangmarg, AEE from the Power Development Department, ZEO Tangmarg, and representatives from the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department.

In his address to those present, CEO Tariq Hussain expressed thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that Gulmarg remains listed as a tourist location at the national and international levels.

Speaking about recent developments, Tariq Hussain mentioned that Operation Sindoor had been carried out and completed and congratulated security forces for the same. He noted the efforts of various teams involved in the process. He also spoke about the incident in Kishtwar earlier in the day, calling it a moment of loss and extending his thoughts to the affected families.
