‘Govt must take effective measures to implement Rehbar Siyahat’

Srinagar, Aug 28 (KNS): The J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has said that approval to Rehbar Siyahat Scheme in the State will further boost the State’s Tourism Industry, besides enabling the Tourism Professionals and trainees to contribute to this important sector, which is the backbone of the State’s economy.
In a statement to KNS, the JKPCC Spokesperson expressed serious concern over the indifferent attitude of the Govt towards the Tourism professionals saying that they can contribute to State Tourism immensely, provided they get the opportunity to work for Tourism Sector in the State. The Rehbar I Siyahat Scheme is in the pipeline for a long time awaiting clearance from the Finance Department.
The unemployed body of Tourism professionals consisting of 1517 aspirants have represented to JKPCC President G.A. Mir seeking redressal of their grievances. They also complained of the indifferent attitude of the Finance Department mentioning in the representation that the Rehabar I Siyahat Scheme if implemented would immensely contribute and strengthen the Tourism Sector besides enabling them to earn their livelihood.
JKPCC Spokesperson said that Govt must take effective measures to implement the Rehbar I Siyahat on the analogy of Rehbar I Ziraat, Rehabar I Machi, Rehbar I Bagwaan and other similarly situated schemes benefitting State as well as the professionals in the State and emphasized that Finance Department of the J&K Govt must grant approval to this Scheme, which will go a long way in further strengthening the Tourism Industry in the State.
