Srinagar, September 19 (KNS): Former Minister and Apni Party leader Ghulam Hassan Mir on Friday said that the Omar Abdullah government should implement a minimum support price (MSP) and compensate affected farmers.
Talking to media, as per Kashmir News Service (KNS) correspondent, he said that the fruit industry suffered heavy losses due to the road blockade. The government should come forward to compensate affected apple farmers, and it should also introduce MSP to support them.
While criticizing CM Omar Abdullah, he said that before asking for control of the national highway, the CM should look at matters under his own control and assess what progress has been made. There is a difference between what they say and what they do.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelPeople are fed up with this government, he said.
He added that during election years there is patience, but failures make people angry from the very beginning. Floods came, rains came, the road got damaged, and travel became difficult for the people of Kashmir, yet the government remained unmoved, he said.
He also said that before elections big promises were made, including restoration of statehood, Article 370, and one lakh jobs. But so far, nothing has happened, and the government has no roadmap for these jobs.
Those who suffered losses should be given compensation, and there should be a minimum support price so that losses can be recovered, he added. (KNS)
