Srinagar, Dec 16 (KNS): PDP leader Iltija Mufti on Tuesday criticised Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over a reported incident in which a Muslim woman’s hijab was allegedly pulled during a public event in the state.
Reacting to the incident, Mufti said no one has the right to interfere with a woman’s dignity in public. She said the reported act reflected a lack of respect for personal and religious choices.
Mufti questioned the conduct of those present at the event and said power does not give anyone the authority to humiliate or mock others.

The PDP leader said dignity and decency must be upheld by those holding constitutional positions and called for accountability over the incident. She added that leaders are expected to set an example in public conduct.
