Srinagar, June 21, (KNS): M. Suleman Choudhary, IPS, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Traffic, Jammu and Kashmir, visited the Baltal base camp to review traffic arrangements for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) 2025.
During his visit, the IGP inspected road conditions, traffic regulation points, and parking facilities along the Yatra route. He conducted on-ground assessments at key junctions to ensure smooth and uninterrupted movement of vehicles during the pilgrimage.
Choudhary directed that traffic personnel be deployed at all critical points to manage vehicle flow effectively. He emphasized the deployment of cranes to remove broken-down or improperly parked vehicles, and instructed that parking areas be clearly marked and efficiently managed to prevent congestion.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe use of proper signage and barricades to guide pilgrims was also stressed.
He further called for close coordination between traffic authorities, civil administration, and district police to ensure quick response in case of any issues.
The IGP was accompanied by Parvaiz Ahmad, SP and Nodal Officer Yatra, Gulzar Ahmad, DySP Traffic Ganderbal, DTI Ganderbal, and other officials of the Traffic Police. (KNS)
