IED defused on Jammu-Rajouri highway

Srinagar, Nov 19 (KNS): A powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was defused by police and army on Jammu-Rajouri highway on Tuesday.

A police official told KNS that the IED had been planted by the militants near Keller on the highway to target security forces. However, he said, the IED was defused by bomb-disposal-squad after it was detected by a road-opening-party (ROP) of army at around 10:30 am.

Reports said traffic on the highway was stopped by the police after the IED was detected. However, after some time when the IED was defused, the traffic was allowed to ply on the road. (KNS)
