Srinagar, Aug 27 (KNS): Senior JCC leader, President Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) Abdul Qayoom Wani has rescheduled the hunger Strike programme under the banner of TJAC, after the consultation with top brass leaders of TJAC.
According to the statement issued to KNS, it was decided that due to unavoidable circumstances the hunger strike programme will now be started from 3rd September instead of 30 August 2018 at Pratap Park Sgr from 10 am.
Wani said that Govt is unnecessarily putting the whole teaching community in mental trauma by delay in releasing 7th Pay Commission in favour of SSA trs, Head trs and RMSA Masters besides not linking their salaries with State sector.
He said that 7th Pay Commission is the legitimate right of teaching fraternity and the teachers asking for 7th pay commission have already availed the benefit of 6th Pay commission, yearly increments and time bound promotions besides having regularised under set norms.
Wani said that ignoring these teachers from benefit of 7th Pay Commission speaks the double standard of the Govt. which is totally against the civil service conduct rules and violation of civil services rights.
He said that these teachers have put their sweat and blood for the betterment of the department but instead of encouraging and empowering them they are being deceived and are facing unbearable social and economic problems, which is totally unacceptable to teaching fraternity.
Wani said that until and unless genuine demands of this particular fraternity will not be redressed at an earliest TJAC will continue its struggle with logic and proper management.
He urged upon the Governor of the state Satya Pal Malik, Advisors Khursheed Ahmad Ganie, B. B. Viyas, Chief Secretary B.V Subramanyium, Secretary school education Rigzian Sampheal to personally intervene into this sensitive issue for its immediate redressel, so that teaching fraternity will prefer to be in the classes instead of hitting the roads.
Wani said that “Teachers Joint Action Committee never believes in confrontation but delay and step motherly treatment with teaching fraternity has compelled us to choose the path of agitation.”
He urged upon the leaders of all the factions of TJAC and their activists to gear up their units for making the scheduled hunger strike programme successful and result oriented by maintaining discipline at every level.
An emergency meeting of Teachers Joint Action Committee has been called on 1st September at its central office at 10 a m to finalise the arrangements for proposed hunger strike programme starting from 3rd September. All the leaders of TJAC have been asked to attend the said meeting at sharp 10 am. (KNS)
