Horticulture deptt to organise Kisan Mela across JK from July 7


Srinagar, June 29 (KNS): The Department of Horticulture is going to organise “kisan Mela” across the Jammu and Kashmir from July 7 to 21th July.
According to order issued to KNS reads, relevant to the subject cited above, it is to intimate that the Government of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir has decided to celebrate the "Kissan Pakhwada" from 7th of July, 2020 to 21th of July, 2020 and subsequently Hon 'We L Governor has kindly consented to launch the event on 7 of July, 2020 at 1:00 PM.
It also said, In this connection, the Govt. has instructed to organize two Kissan Mela's in each District during the aforesaid fortnight (Pakhwada). The Kissan Mela shall include exhibitions of latest Farm Equipment's and Technological Advancements, Awareness about Departmental schemes presently under implementation & incentives being provided to farmers, besides credit facilities available under KCC Scheme. The main theme of Celebrating "Kissan Pakhwada" is to ensure 100% coverage of Orchardists under KCC Scheme thereby ensuring Enhancement of Credit flow to transform the rural economy. Accordingly, you are instructed to organic/participate in the Kissan Mela's during "Kissan Pakhwada" in your respective districts in association with Department of Agriculture and allied sectors as per below
Mattan 11.07.2020, Dooru 12.07.2020,Kulgam 07.07.2020,Qoimah 08.07.2020, Shopian 09.07.2020,Keller 10.07.2020,Tral 14.07.2020, Haal Pulwama 15.07.2020, Ganderbal 16.07.2020, Kangan 17.07.2020, Budgam 18.07.2020, Khansahab 08.07.2020, Srinagar, 21.07.2020,Harwan 17.07.2020, Baramulla 20.07.2020, Tangmarg 18.07.2020, Bandipora 15.07.2020, Sumbal 16.07.2020 Kupwara 21.07.2020 and Handwara on dated 20.07.2020.
It further reads, You will maintain close liaison with the allied departments viz Agriculture. Animal Husbandry. Sheep Husbandry along with lead bank Manager of your respective districts for successful organizing of these awareness programs, while strictly following the SOP's for containment and management of Covid-19 pandemic During the fortnight of "Kissan Phakwads" sufficient quantities of KCC Applications forms& posters lea lets depicting Departmental schemes & incentives be made available for awareness of Farmers. The Schemes may also be highlighted through banners during the event.
You will also mobilize the field functionaries of your district for making the event a big success and due publicity be given to the event, so that target of 100% coverage eligible farmers of UT of J&K under KCC Scheme for enhancement (KNS)
