Home Minister reviews security situation in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jun 26 (KNS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah today reviewed the overall security situation and security for Amarnath Yatra on his first day of the visit to Kashmir.

The Home Minister reviewed the overall security situation of the state and discussed security arrangements for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra with top security officials of the state.

Shah is on a two day visit to Jammu and Kashmir for security review and to pay obedience at Amarnath Cave in Pahalgam.

The home minister will meet separately State Governor Satyapal Malik, and will chair a meeting of Panches and sarpanches of the state tomorrow at SKICC.

Earlier today, Shah was received at the airport by the state Governor Satya Pal Malik, his advisors and other high ranking officials of the civil and security establishment of the state.

The security agencies have enhanced security arrangements in and around Srinagar for the next two day.

Deputy magistrate Srinagar has imposed traffic restrictions on Bulvard road for two days beginning today till tomorrow.

Security agencies have been asked to be alert during the visit to avoid any untoward incident. (KNS)
