Says moral education imperative to curb evils

Srinagar, Apr 19 (KNS): Demanding fast track court trial and prosecution of the Asifa rape-murder case on daily basis, Chairman PDF and MLA Khansahib Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen has urged for convening a special session of the state legislature so that a deterrent Law is enacted for harshest punishment to the convicts of rape on minors.
Addressing a large public gathering at Hard Panzoo in Khansahib constituency today Hakeem Yaseen urged for a deterrent Law for severe punishment to criminals convicted for rape and murder of a minor. He also urged for joint efforts to curb evils from the society adding that most of the crimes including rape and murders do occur mainly due to degradation of moral values in the society. He said crimes against women are shameful in a civilizes society adding that all religions teach us to respect a women for which imparting religious and moral education was imperative.
On this occasion, Hakeem Yaseen laid foundation stone for construction of an additional block for NTPHC, Hardpunzoo, to be completed at a cost of Rs.1.80 crore. This building complex would be used for providing maternity and child care facilities to the patients of the area. He also inaugurated a diagnostic Laboratory block constructed at a cost of Rs 40 lakhs. He also inaugurated an x-ray plant costing
Rs.5 lakhs in the NTPHC, Hardpanzoo. “All these facilities would go a long way to provide better Medicare facilities to the patients in the area.”
Hakeem Yaseen also demanded registration of FIRS against all those who in any way tries to obstruct investigation in the horrific rape-murder of 8 years old nomadic child. He asked the Government to take stringent action against all those lumpen elements who are trying to communalize and polarize the society on this tragic incident for their vested interest. He said nobody should be allowed to affect the ensuing tourist season in the state and also advised the students to concentrate on their studies as the investigation agencies and judiciary was doing a commendable job on the Asifa rape-murder case to the best satisfaction of all.
