PDF leaders visit martyrs graveyard at Naqashband Sahib shrine to pay tribute to July 13 martyrs

Srinagar, Jul 13 (KNS): Chairman PDF, Hakeem Yaseen has said that Kashmiri Muslims have always welcomed Amarnath Yatris wholeheartedly and they are the real people who make this regular religious event successful. He said it was most unfortunate that stringent curbs have been put on the free movement of same gallant people of Kashmir, on the pretext of security to the Amarnath Yatris.

Speaking to media persons after paying floral tribute to the martyrs of 13 July, 1931 at martyrs graveyard in the shrine of Naqashband Sahib, Srinagar, Hakeem Yaseen said that the people of Kashmir are basically secular and firmly believe in religious coexistence. But unfortunately their sincerity is being suspected since last many years. He said curbs on the movement of civilian population on national highway was another example of sheer mistrust against the people of Kashmir. He said restrictions on the movement of civilian population on national highway was taking heavy toll of fruit industry.

Strongly demanding to lift the ban, Hakeem Yaseen said that restrictions on civilian traffic on national highway was more detrimental to the state's economy which is already on ventilator due to prevailing abnormal situation.

Hakeem Yaseen said that the martyrs have laid down their lives for the supreme cause of civilian liberty, a mission which is yet to be achieved. He urged for United efforts to fight against injustices and oppression meted out to the people so that the dream of martyrs about a peaceful and prosperous state is fructified.

Hakeem Yaseen was accompanied by former minister Gh. Hassan Mir and CPI (M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami. (KNS)
