Srinagar, Sep 22 (KNS): Chairman PDF and MLA, Khansahib Hakeem Yaseen has expressed sorrow over the killing of four passengers and injuring several others in another tragic road accident in Ganga Soti area of Gandoh in Doda district of Jammu region.
In a statement to KNS, Hakeem Yaseen has said that the roads in erstwhile Doda district have been turned into a death trap where almost every second day precious human lives are getting lost in road accidents mainly due to utter failure of the concerned Government agencies especially traffic, transport and R&B departments.
He said as per reports four passengers have been killed on the spot while as seven others have been injured critically in today's road mishap which is very tragic.
While conveying his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved families, Hakeem Yaseen has demanded immediate ex-gratia relief to the victim families. He has urged the Government to take effective measures to check the menace of rash driving and overloading in the passenger vehicles adding that only those drivers should be allowed to drive passenger vehicles in hilly areas who posses hill driving licenses. He has urged the need for a strict vehicle movement checking and monitoring system in all the hilly areas especially in Doda, Kishtwar and Poonch districts. (KNS)
