Srinagar, Jul 12 (KNS): Chairman PDF Hakeem Yaseen has paid glowing tribute to the martyrs of 13th July 1931 who laid down their lives against the oppression and tyrany in the state.

In his message on the occasion of Youm-e-Shuhda (Martyrs Day), Hakeem Yaseen while paying rich tribute and respects to the martyrs of 13th July, said that sacrifices of the valiant martyrs will continue to inspire people of the state to fight for their rights, dignity and justice. He said time has proved that the people's undying thirst for dignity and honour cannot be suppressed by might.

Hakeem Yaseen has expressed his dismay over exploitation of the sacrifices of the 13th July Martyrs, by some opportunistic political parties of the state for their pretty interests.

He said “we should not forget that it was their sacrifice that proved to be a turning point in mobilizing oppressed people of the state to stand against dictatorship and feudalism. He has asked the people especially youth to follow the path shown by the martyrs to safeguard their identity and honour. He said sacrifice of the valiant martyrs will remain a golden chapter in the annals of history.

Hakeem Yaseen said that the people of the state shall have to follow the path shown by the martyrs to fight for their rights adding that the mission of the martyrs has not been achieved fully as yet. (KNS)
