Jammu, Aug 18(KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir administration has decided to close all schools in the Jammu region for Monday, August 18, 2025, following a weather advisory warning of heavy rainfall and potential hazards. The order covers both government and private educational institutions to ensure the safety of students and staff amid ongoing adverse weather.
This decision comes after a series of cloudburst incidents over the past few days that have caused significant loss of life and injuries. In Kishtwar district’s Chisoti village, a cloudburst triggered flash floods on August 14, resulting in 61 fatalities and leaving more than 116 people injured. Several individuals, including 81 pilgrims and one security personnel, remain unaccounted for.
In addition, the Kathua district experienced two separate incidents of cloudburst and landslides on August 17 in the Jodh Ghati and Janglote areas, where seven people lost their lives and five were injured.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
