Srinagar, Feb 02 (KNS): Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani has condoled the demise of maternal uncle of Dr. G. Mohammad Bhat, who is incarcerated in Tihar Jail for past 9 years. He said that families of prisoners particularly those who are being kept thousands miles away from their home have a very tough and painful life and if some dear one departs in between, the pain and agony gets multi-fold for such families.
It is to mention here that for the last 9 years Dr. G. M. Bhat is languishing in Tihar jail and the list of fake witness (240), out of which only 33 have surfaced in these 9 years and if the judicial pace is same it may need another 50 years for judicial pears to testify his charges.
Hurriyat (G) chairman said that despite being political prisoners they are denied every right guaranteed in the national or international jail manual. Revengeful attitude of the rulers in Delhi has grossed every limit of heartlessness and in sensitivity by prolonging their stay in jails through their judicial victimization.
Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman said that we share the grief with Dr. Gh. Mohammad Bhat and the bereaved family and pray for eternal peace of deceased and courage for the family to bear this painful loss.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat Conference (G) prayed glorious tributes to late Advocate Gh Mohideen Regu on his 21th martyrdom anniversary and said that the case file was shelved, enquiry closed and those involved in his murder are roaming free. Hurriyat said that Col Bawa, Major Poniya of 17 Jat & a JK police officer Mushtaq Sadiq were involved for his brutal murder, however the assassins were provided a safe exit by state authorities.
Statement said that late Ad Regu was a pro-freedom activist and an intelligent at par excellence. In a joint operation, he was arrested by 17 Jat and police on February 1/1998, said Hurriyat Conference (G). He was killed in custody and his mutilated dead body was thrown on a road side, Hurriyat (G) said.
Though a FIR was lodged and case investigated and later without assigning any reason case was closed.
Hurriyat Conference (G) in its statement while praying for late Regu, expressed their sympathy and solidarity with his family. (KNS)
