Ganderbal land scam: Crime branch files case against four accused

 Srinagar, Aug 19(KNS): The Economic Offences Wing of Crime Branch Kashmir has registered a First Information Report (FIR) against four individuals in connection with a land transaction involving alleged impersonation and misrepresentation.

The individuals named in the FIR are including Khurshid Ahmad Bhat (Patwari), S/o Ghulam Nabi Bhat, R/o Fatepora Ganderbal, Ghulam Nabi Bhat, S/o Ghulam Rasool Bhat, R/o Fatepora Ganderbal, Abdul Rashid Parray, S/o Abdul Gani Parray, R/o Pandach Ganderbal and Sajid Rashid Parray, S/o Abdul Rashid Parray, R/o Pandach Ganderbal

The FIR was registered on the basis of a written complaint alleging that Khurshid Ahmad Bhat, while serving as Patwari, along with others, entered into an agreement to sell land measuring 7 kanals and 2 marlas in Mouza Nuner, Ganderbal, by falsely representing ownership.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The land in question was found to be owned by a migrant Kashmiri Pandit and held under a power of attorney by a third party.

According to the complaint, a sum of ?1.19 crore was paid out of a total agreed consideration of ?2.76 crore before the discrepancy came to light.

Preliminary findings indicate the use of forged documents and impersonation, leading to the registration of offences under Sections 420, 468, 471, and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code.

The case has been registered at Police Station, Economic Offences Wing (Crime Branch Kashmir), and further investigation is underway.(KNS).
