Gulmarg, Sept 12 (KNS): The Gulmarg Development Authority (GDA) has directed all concerned persons, unit holders and agencies to remove hazardous, unwanted and aesthetically displeasing items lying in public places and along roads, pathways and other areas within its jurisdiction, particularly in the Gulmarg Bowl.

In a circular issued by Chief Executive Officer, GDA, Alyaz Ahmad Naisroo, the authority observed that various materials lying in public areas were causing visual nuisance and, in several cases, posing potential hazards to the safety and convenience of the general public.

The GDA has given a one-week deadline for removal of unwanted and unused materials, including old or damaged signboards, bricks, stones, gravel, temporary fencing, benches, tools and equipment, broken dustbins and other structures or materials that are unsightly, obstructive, abandoned or pose a risk to the public.

The concerned persons and unit holders have been directed to ensure that the areas are completely cleared and maintained in a clean, safe and aesthetically acceptable condition.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The circular further states that no material shall henceforth be stored or placed in public areas without prior permission from the competent authority.

The GDA has warned that failure to remove such items within the stipulated period will empower the authority to clear them without any further notice, at the sole risk, cost and responsibility of the concerned person, agency or unit.

The authority also clarified that it would not be responsible for any loss or damage to such material during its removal, while any expenditure incurred in the process would be recoverable from the person responsible in accordance with rules.

All concerned officers, officials and members of the public have been asked to ensure strict compliance with the circular and submit a compliance report after expiry of the stipulated period. (KNS)
