Srinagar, Dec 22 (KNS): Weather conditions across Jammu and Kashmir remained largely in line with forecasts, with no snowfall reported in the plains owing to relatively higher temperatures, officials said on Monday.
They said the impact of a fresh Western Disturbance could lead to light rain or snowfall in some areas between Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning, particularly in parts of north Kashmir.
Officials said that if precipitation occurs over the plains during night hours, it may briefly fall as snow as temperatures are likely to dip during that period.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The major weather system has already moved out of the region, and current weather models do not indicate any widespread or significant precipitation across most parts of the Union Territory.
However, light precipitation in higher reaches cannot be ruled out due to residual moisture in the atmosphere left behind by the earlier Western Disturbance, officials added.(KNS)
