Kupwara, Jun 21 (KNS): To curb the drug menace in the society, Kupwara police on Friday claimed to have detained four drug peddlers in the district.

The four detainees were identified as Riyaz Ahmad Badan, Mudasir Ahmad Piswal, Tanveer Ahmad Raina and Zameer Ahmad Raina, all residents of Amrohie Karnah. They have been booked under PSA and lodged in different jails.

A huge quantity of Brown Sugar was recovered from their possession, officials as per KNS Correspondent said, adding that a case under FIR number 02/19 under section 08/21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS Kralpora in this regard.

Meanwhile, the people hailed the police action while as police said that such actions to curb the drug menace in the district will also continue in future.

Police appealed general public to cooperate and help Kupwara police in identifying such elements so that culprits are brought to book. (KNS)
