Says essential commodities stocked, manpower deployed, and digital systems planned to ensure smooth yatra operations
Pahalgam, June 30 (KNS): Director of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Kashmir, Dr. Owais Ahmed on Monday said that the department has completed all necessary preparations for the Shri Amarnath yatra 2025, with stocking of essential commodities and manpower deployment in place well in advance.
Speaking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Dr. Ahmed said the provisioning at all supply stations has been completed, and this year’s stock exceeds last year’s allocation. “Our stocking has been done. All the essential supplies like food grains are in place, and manpower has been deployed at all relevant locations,” he said.
He added that instructions have already been issued to all field officers including Tehsil Supply Officers and Depot Officers to remain alert and responsive to any requirements during the yatra.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“They have to be attentive. We have ensured sufficient deployment for day and night shifts so that operations run smoothly,” he said.
Dr. Ahmed also said that the department is working towards increased digitalization and automation of systems to improve transparency and efficiency. “Our focus is on adopting IT-based systems. Similar initiatives have been successful elsewhere and we plan to implement them here as well,” he added.
Regarding local support, he said the people of the area have always extended cooperation, and the department works in coordination with civil society and the district administration to ensure smooth functioning. “We are ready to help wherever needed and have full support from the community,” he said.(KNS).
