Five Injured in Road Accident Near Narsu Nallah on Udhampur-Chenani Highway

Udhampur, July 11 (KNS): A major road accident occurred on Friday morning at curve number M.S. 72.400 near Narsu Nallah along the Udhampur-Chenani road, leaving five people seriously injured.

According to officials, a Maruti Alto car (registration number JK06A 1529) was travelling from Udhampur towards Chenani when it reportedly moved onto the wrong side of the road and collided head-on with a truck (registration number JK13F 4252) that was coming down the slope in its correct lane.

All five occupants of the Alto car sustained serious injuries in the accident and were immediately shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Udhampur for medical treatment.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The driver of the truck, identified as Amir Ahmad, son of Farooq Ahmad, a resident of Kadipora village in Pulwama district, was unharmed in the incident.

Traffic movement was temporarily disrupted at the accident site. However, police teams promptly reached the spot and restored traffic flow.

As per the preliminary investigation, the cause of the accident was the Alto car travelling on the wrong side. Police have initiated legal proceedings, and necessary medical assistance has been provided to the injured.

Further investigation into the incident is underway.(KNS)
