Dir Health appreciates Operative Team, MS Dr Majid Mirab

Srinagar, Nov 11 (KNS): Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir (DHSK) achieved yet another milestone, when for the first time pancreatic surgery was performed at District Hospital Anantnag. A male patient from Kokernag who was complaining of persistent pain secondary to chronic pancreatitis was operated upon by Dr Riyaz Lattoo, Surgical Gastroenterologist and his team.
Frey’s procedure was done wherein stones from pancreatic duct were removed and duct was anastomosed to gut (jejunum).Part of pancreatic head was also excised. Patient behaved well post operatively and has been discharged now in a stable condition. The surgeon was assisted by Dr Nasir, Anesthetist, Zubair, Shafi, Hai and Lateef(OT Staff)
