Bandipora, June 10 (KNS): Bandipora Police on Tuesday said that an FIR has been registered and a few boys apprehended following inputs about obscene activities taking place in the main market area of Bandipora.
The clarification came in response to widespread speculation on social media suggesting a sex racket had been busted in a restaurant in the locality. Dismissing the rumours, police categorically stated that no female was involved in the incident.

“Acting on the information, a police team, along with the Executive Magistrate, reached the spot and apprehended a few boys who were allegedly involved in the act,” the statement read.
Police further confirmed that no girl was apprehended or found involved in the matter. “An FIR has been registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station Bandipora,” the statement added.
Authorities have urged media professionals to avoid circulating unverified information and advised the general public not to fall prey to rumours being spread on social media—(KNS)
