Srinagar, July 6 (KNS): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, V K Birdi on Sunday said that elaborate traffic and security arrangements have been made across Srinagar and adjoining districts to ensure the smooth conduct of 10th Muharram (Ashura) processions.
Speaking to reporters during the Ashura procession in Srinagar, the IGP said, “Extensive arrangements have been made by J&K Police, Srinagar district administration, and the traffic wing to ensure that mourners do not face any problems.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelWe are also ensuring that traffic regulations are smooth for the general public.”
According to KNS, he said that traffic plans are not limited to Srinagar city alone but have also been implemented in nearby districts, anticipating large gatherings of mourners from different areas.
“Other districts are aware that a lot of people converge here for Ashura. So, the traffic regulations are being followed across all adjoining areas as well,” he said.(KNS)
