Srinagar, Apr 26 (KNS): In a first, ADC Handwara Peerzada Muzfar Hussain on Thursday launched the anti-encroachment and anti-polythene drive in the area and seized polythene from the shopkeepers.
The drive headed by ADC Handwara Peerzada Muzaffar Hussain, Tehsildar Handwara Sajad Ahmad and Executive Officer Municipal Committee Handwara Habibullah Darzi have realized a fine of Rs 22000 from various shopkeepers, wholesale dealers, distributors and manufacturers for selling adulterated, sub-standard and misbranded food items.
They later appealed the shopkeepers not to use the polythene. (KNS)
