Dr Shakeela Passes Away After Brief Illness, Hundreds Attend Her Nimaz-e-Janaza in Bandipora

Bandipora, Sept 2 (KNS): Dr Shakeela, wife of Dr Feroz Iqbal, Block Medical Officer (BMO) Gurez, passed away on Tuesday evening at her residence in Srinagar following a brief illness. She was 57.

Dr Shakeela was a well-qualified and dedicated medical officer who had been serving in Bandipora. Known for her professional commitment and sincere service, her untimely demise was widely mourned by colleagues and people associated with the healthcare sector.

She was the sister of Assistant Commissioner Panchayat Bandipora, Aijaz Ali.

Her mortal remains were brought to Bandipora, where she was laid to rest at Greenland Colony on Wednesday morning. Hundreds of people, including family members, relatives, friends, colleagues, officials and local residents, attended her Nimaz-e-Janaza and burial.

The gathering witnessed an outpouring of grief, with people praying for the eternal peace of the departed soul and expressing solidarity with the bereaved family.

The medical fraternity also mourned her death, with doctors, paramedical staff and colleagues remembering her as a dedicated professional who discharged her duties with sincerity and commitment.

Her demise has been particularly mourned in Bandipora, where she had served as a medical officer and remained associated with the local healthcare system.

Dr Shakeela is survived by her husband, Dr Feroz Iqbal, and a son.

The bereaved family has been receiving condolences from across the district and different parts of Kashmir. People prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the departed soul eternal peace and give the family strength and patience to bear the irreparable loss.(KNS)
